This Wordpress Theme comes with all layered psd files, a visual help guide and is fully localized ready for you to translate it into your target language.
Check the screenshots for a preview of the admin area.
Additionally you may get the layered PSD only, or just the coded XHTML template for use in the cms of your choice. Use the buttons below to navigate.

Templates:-
- A Parent theme with child themes for stress free theme updates. Create your own child theme or modify one of the ones provided,
- Media Embedding: Easy media embed method – with custom shortcodes in the post content area or use a media plugin of your choice. I have tested the Flash Video Player Plugin for WordPress.
The theme’s custom video shortcodes support (for now):- Vimeo,
- YouTube,
- Google Video,
- Blip TV,
- Veoh,

Detailed instructions on how to use them are in the help file.
- Featured Posts: Feature any post, in any category – the easy way – just make them sticky! Why restrict yourself to one featured category when you can have the freedom to pick and choose any post from any category to feature!
- Navigation: Choose and put together your Site’s Main Navigation without touching the code in the template files. All available options are right there for you included in the Theme Options.
- Post Layout: Theme options to customize the layout.
- Choose to show "share icons" in the featured area or not,
- Choose 2 or 3 columns of posts below the featured area on the Frontpage,
- Do the same indepently for Category pages,
- Additionally choose how the posts will display in their columns (with sliding or static splash image),
- Do the same indepently for Category pages
- Post Teasers: Teaser word limit can be adjusted independently for
- Sticky (featured) posts,
- Multimedia posts on the front page,
- Multimedia posts on category pages and
- Regular blog posts (if posting any)
- Category Descriptions: Enter an optional short! category description and it will appear to the right of the category title when viewing the appropriate category page
- Subpages: appear dynamically in sidebar when created
- Related posts: if there are any, appear in the single page sidebar. How many should appear is set by you from the theme options
- Security: 2 common sense security precautions already hooked in just for you
- Hiden login page error feedback,
- Hiden WordPress version number,
- Spam Prevention: A useful little function to deny Comment Posting to "No Referrer Requests" is included to work alongside Akismet for keeping spammers out!

Images:-
Thumbnail images for media posts are taken from custom write panels and dynamically resized using a custom written script (not TimThumb but still requires the GD Library)
Thumbnail images for regular blog posts are taken from the first image attachment if it exists.

Hey Erwin, the download files come with a detailed help pdf file and demo data for import in WordPress.
This means that by using the sample data you’ll get a copy of what you see in the demo

Great themes you have! I’m considering this theme for a texture/wallpaper site and am curious if you have a comparison between this one and the SM version.
You say there are more features in this one, but I haven’t found a simple list/comparison.

Eric, you find the free theme’s features list if you click on “Take a Tour” on the demo. Not the multimedia Reloaded demo but on the shashingMultiMedia one. At the end of the pdf I have a few lines about the additional features that the theme on TF has.

Very nice, I like the sticky post being the featured idea. Also like the colors except for the sidebar – it would better if it were another darker shade of the brown like background instead of green. I especially like the sample videos you have chosen for the demo. Great job and thanks for providing such a great theme for free.

The colours were the smashing magazine’s guys call. I gave them 3-4 colour variations, among them the light and dark you see on the TF version of the theme but in the end they were the ones to decide- it was after all a theme release for them

Great looking theme! Quick question — how easy or possible would it be to change the background color on it? For example, if I needed the background to be blue or gray, instead of either black or white — is that do-able?
It’s just a matter of declaring the css colour value to the body element.
If you are not comfortable with basic css I can easily guide you through it. Part of the free support that I offer customers is basic walkthroughs over skype, like short one on one lessons

hi sarah, great looking theme! i’m very new to WordPress and unfortunately i’m not smart enough to figure out how to install it properly.
1) i can’t find the .htaccess file anywhere. i’m using a Mac and perhaps it’s hiding the file but if so, i don’t know how to “un-hide” it.
2) as i’m trying to import dummy content i’m also unable to find any WXR files anywhere for me to upload. this is after i’d chosen “Wordpress.”
lastly is this the best method of support or is Skype also an option?
i’m sure i’ll have more questions later, but i’m just trying to get started!

Hi Sarah, more thanks for you sharm works, nice themes and documentation. Small problem if I upload too new images in new post too HTTP protocol, after compressed images not beuteful. I use FTP uploading and all images is after OK.

we are using the free version downloaded from smashing mag.
and are havings some problems with the categories pages (3 problems at least).
- The sidebar is not showing.
- the total numbers of posts is not showing as well (only 3 posts are).
- and last but nos least: the footer is missing too.

if you notice above I also mention it is possible to use a plugin such as the Flash Video Player Plugin for WordPress which allows for self hosted video files.

I might have done something wrong, but the white version of this does not work at all. I downloaded this from Smashing, unpacked, added both themes separately – the brown one is fine, the white one is not.
Also, I have been changing some CSS elements (like the Category cloud on front page, 18px padding is too generous) but the changes are not saving.
Can I also recommend you create a custom css framework like Thesis/Frugal/Headway?
There’s also no way to scan back through previous posts on the front page — I’ve had to revert to my old theme – there are some really good ideas here but it needs some more work (I have some ideas if you want them – from a usability point of view).

Tim, from where stand everything works just fine
You need to make sure that you have the multimedia reloaded parent theme present if you want the light version to work.
Also when adjusting the css make sure you make your changes in the correct file and that there’s no other styles that ovewrwrite yours

Interesting, I uploaded both theme folders from the Smashing download and no matter which way around I have the Parent/Child selected, the light theme loses all it’s CSS styling.
Can you email me via my email here, your admin has the email disabled…I won’t take up too much of your time!! It’s just this theme is perfect for my site.
I want to clarify the CSS with you, as I can get changes to “stick” at all via changes in the styles.css file

Having some problems with the social media icons on the home page.
1) I want to change the rss so that the user will subscribe to all posts rather than just the individual post the user has currently clicked. (i.e. change from ‘http://mywebsite/individualpost/feed’ to ‘http://feeds2.feedburner.com/mywebsite’ or ‘http://mywebsite.com/?feed=rss2′)
2) Change twitter from default url to my twitter account. This doesn’t seem to update when it is changed in the admin “Subscribe and Social Options” under the theme.
The icons on the individual post pages are working correctly. I cannot seem to locate the file that handles the home page social icons on the far right. Can you point me in the right direction? I have looked at index.php, single.php, page.php, functions.php. Is there a widget I need to activate to make this work properly?

hi, first of all. thank you for creating this wonderful theme.
I’m running this free theme with a clean 2.85 wp install and encountered with some problems. The front end just won’t show up at all once i imported the dummy contents or added contents manually. The dummy contents load up just fine if other themes were activated instead. The page loads up lightning fast if all articles were deleted.
What might be casuing this problem? I hope this probelm doesnt happen to your other wpshop themes that im currently considering of purchasing.

I was wondering if the paid version of this them will automatically resize images for column post nav below the splash at the top.
As you can see I am encountering the problem of the image being to short, but for my client, I dont want them to have to make horizontal images themselves.
I am happy to pay for the theme if it has this functionality, but I am just testing it now to see if this will work for my client.

Hello Steven, the multimedia reloaded theme handles images the same way the free version does. Both versions do resize the images to fit either the 2 column or 3 column option. Does the workaround suggested in the help file not work for you?
Perhaps if I could see the actual issue on hand I may be able to provide another option setting to the reloaded version of the theme to cover your needs. Email me if you like with a link to your site

customizing the logo is just a matter of editing the psd file accompaning the theme and saving the newly created image using the same file name as the original logo (logo-trans.png) that’s all

Image sizes can be defined in the WordPress settings.
Regarding the images that the theme custom resizes to fit the layout, those also you can change but please remember that you have to adjust the layout as well to accomodate the new sizes.

You can easily embed self-hosted videos using any WordPress plugin of your choice. I even recomend one that I tested in the help documentation.

I have 12 posts posted,
i have configured to show 6 posts in homepage
Other 6 posts are in 2′nd page. But page navigation for 2′nd page is not showing.
The Front page does not use the pagination because the custom queries I have going there were messing it up. You can increase the number of posts you want to show there from your theme settings.
