Hello Sarah,
I want to purchase one of your themes, either The Furniture Store or The Clothes Shop. I’ve seen demo video for The Clothes Shop, but there isn’t one for The Furniture Store.
Are these themes the same in functionality and only different in their appearance? What important differences are there between the two?
Thanks.
The functionality is the same yes.
What’s different is the design and of course certain design related theme settings that the Furniture Store has the Clothes Shop doesn’t and the other way around. I think I should prepare a little feature comparison table for people. Will have this in mind when I redesign my site.
If you could let me know what it is you need (presentation related) I can tell you which theme is closer to what you are trying to accomplish.
Hi Sarah,
I would like to purchase The Clothes Shop. But i still wonder if you will have the In stock Widget, which shows the available items in stock in the moment. And in the front page(home page)there would be a small slide show section to show random items with price ? Thanks you for your answer.
Tony
Tony, stock amounts do display when the inventory is on. I have turned it off on the demo because people like to test “purchasing” items and I had to keep coming back to fill up the stock so I decided to turn the inventory tracking off
Regarding having slideshow on the front page. This can easily be added in. Some other people already asked for it so I will be adding it in.
Don’t forget that even if it’s added after you purchase you are entitled to free updates for life!
Hi!, I’m very intersted in your theme. Is great!
I’m thinking in having the site in “Bluehost.com”, do you know if it has all the requirements?
And, for using it the way it is shown in the video (wordpress wp-admin) all I need to buy is the “Wordpress $42″ and for design it the PSD, right?
Thank you!
Alex, I had buyers hosting their site using Bluehost and everything seems to be just fine. However please do make sure that your particular hosting package runs on php5.
The WordPress version comes with the PSD’s no need to purchase anything separately
Hope this helps
I forgot, in the demo site, is it the backend part (wp-admin) also available for the demo? A “demo password” or something?
You can see the backend screenshots here:
http://thejewelryshop.sarah-neuber.de/about
It’s a different theme however the Shop admin is the same. Only the Design options differ slightly because of the layout of that particular theme.
Hope this helps
Can I say a beautifully crafted theme.
Is there any chance that you can integrate “Sage Pay” into the theme as this is one of the best value for money payment systems at this moment in time. It also has links to the Sage accounting system that has a massive customer base.
For your info “Sage Pay” was “Protx”
Kind regards, Andrew Tate.
Andrew, you’ll be happy to know that Sage Pay is on our “To-Do” list so it is planned to be added in a future update. Please note that we do not add features for individual buyers (not even when payment is offered).
Just so I can give you an idea how we work…
General design editing is forwarded to a team of developers that we collaborate with whereas feature requests are handled in the following manner:
If a customization request involves a feature that we feel others will benefit from or that others have already requested this gets on our “to do” list. The more popular a request is, the higher it gets on the list.
All requests are taken seriously and considered carefuly before we decide what gets in and at what rate.
Sarah I think you must have misunderstood me somewhere along the line. I am in a number of forums where I share coding work I have done (even though I am not a trained coder) with the masses.
I was thinking that integrating Sage Pay would create a wider audience for your theme.
Kind regards, Andrew Tate.
I don’t think I have. I was merely explaining how we work on suggestions offered.
You are right about Sage Pay, it is requested often enough and it is planned in for a future updated. However, us being only 2 coders in the team, we have time to add one thing at a time (and test things properly) otherwise it get’s messy.
The next feature on the list is the tax module so as you can imagine any other features will have to wait for their turn.
If you are saying you want to add it in yourself then this is a different matter altogether.
Sarah
When it comes to the bits of the coding that deal with “Money” I think I need to steer well clear and leave it to the experts.
Regards, Andrew Tate.
Beautiful Theme. Many Thanks.
Can you tell me if it is relatively easy to add a contact number field and a mobile number field to the “Shipping & Billing Address” stage of the checkout process as it is always nice to have a customers contact number just in case there are any issues.
Also as the shop will only be selling to the UK can you please give me some idea how I can remove the “Country” field as I do not need “Germany” and “Italy”.
Many thanks, Andrew Tate.
An optional contact number field has been added in the upcoming update
If the Shop will be handling only nationwide orders (so, no international orders) then only the country the Shop is located in (in your case UK) will appear.
Hope this helps
Sarah many thanks for the info, I suppose for the moment I can get customers to put it in the comments field.
I have to say that I missed the “Update Zones” button in the shipping settings, that is why I I had Italy and Germany in the options.
It would be nice if that when you were only shipping “Nationwide” that the “Select Country” option was automatically taken out so the customer only had to enter their address. This would make the purchase process smoother as we are all aware that less clicks means more chance of a completed sale.
Looking forward to a long relationship.
Agreed about the less clicks point
Sarah
Have you given any thought to having a support forum?
I have tried searching through the posts for ideas & solutions, but it is difficult. It may save you time as you wouldn’t have to waste time answering duplicate questions.
Regards, Andrew Tate.
I am in the process of redesigning this website and a number of things will change!
I would like to purchase your theme, but I have a question. Why can’t this be ran on a windows server? My server is windows and this is the only thing keeping me from purchasing. Is there a compatible version?
Ben, some test users run the shop already succesfully on a Windows Server with Apache. So far they actually have no problem however we left the restriction in because certain php functions may still present issues under certain circuimstances. We did not want to give a “green light” and then be flooded with hundreds of support requests, we already have our hands full with installs on Linux Servers alone!
If you want to go ahead and try to install the theme on your windows server proceed at your own risk
Hey im interested with the jewelry shop and the clothes shop theme. I tot of using godaddy wordpress hosting plan? do you have an idea if they are able to support the themes?
thanks!
Dy
Why don’t you ask them if your hosting package meets the theme requirements?
hey! Just a couple of questions.
Do you have any link of some website actually using this theme?
And, I already saw the demo and stuff, but, If I have a dress design, and from that same dress I have 3 different colors, can I have a sub-category or an menu for choose the colors I want via a photograph?
I hope it’s clear.
Hello Alex, I’m in the process of redesigning my website and the new design will include a Showcase gallery so people can see other real sites using our themes.
For now I can only give you one link:
http://www.doo-lally.com/
Believe it or not that is based on the Clothes Shop theme
Regarding your other question: can I have a sub-category or an menu for choose the colors I want via a photograph?
So you want the colour selections to be photographs and not text in a select drop down (the way it is right now).
is that what you are asking? If not, do you have an example to show me?
Yes! That’s the question, sorry if it was confusing.
Also, I asked my hosting provider about the requirement, and they told me that the “PHP allow furl open” thing, wouldn’t be available unless I got something like a “master premium pack”, but that is very expensive for what I got.
So, if I don’t have that option, I can’t use the theme? I also like the “Jewelry Sop Theme” in that one, I don’t that option?
Thanks!
Alex, the “PHP allow furl open” is not a requirement anymore, but in any case it’s only a setting in your Server PHP settings that you can turn on or off. However if your Host already tells you you will need a “master premium pack” for it you may want to enquire into this this a little more
Also, regarding the select drop-downs, what you are asking has been requested for the “Select Colour” drop-down, but for the time being this is not a priority in comparison with some other important functionality requests that are higher on the list (i.e. tax module, more Payment Gateways, more Delivery options etc)
Ok, thanks a lot. I’ll check that. Is thera Spanish version?
Is it possible to send a newsletter out to every member who is registered with the site?
Thanks
Oh and is it possible to customize the widgets yourself such as instead of “Outfit” it could be something else. As I want to use this theme but not for a clothes shop :p
If its just a simple matter of changing the code to say something else than thats fine, I can do that.
Also is it possible to make the page where customers are filling in their details a security protected SSL page?
Thank you very much for this stunning theme!
Yes, you can “translate” the widgets to something else you may have a better use for. You only need to follow the instructions in the translations.pdf I provide with the other documentation in the theme.
SSL is also possible, yes.
Propably with the right plugin, yes
I have another question :p, is it possible to view a user’s wish list as an admin. Also when they are paying, can you specify other options such as birthdate, and store it so you can send them birthday wishes?
Thanks,
Yusuf
and how big is the theme file?
2,73MB
To to view a user’s wish list as an admin. is not possible at the moment but wouldn’t that violate privacy rights? If we add such functionality in it should be an option that the registered customer may opt in or out. I wouldn’t want people I did not invide to see my wishlist (if I were a customer) and I am surew I am not the only one that feels this way.
Regarding:
when they are paying, can you specify other options such as birthdate, and store it so you can send them birthday wishes?
The checkout area has an optional field for customers to enter a “note” to the shop owner if they want to. Try out the demo so you can see it.
Perhaps you will find a way to use that for your needs somehow?
Of the Clothes Shop? Yes, I believe I have a Spanish *po and *mo files somewhere
(if a translation is available it is provided in the languages folder of the theme)
