    Andreas Gerads

    • What do you mean by wholesale? Can you please explain?

      • A wholesale customer logs in and see a lower price or pricing level than the general public since they typically purchase to resell, and have been previously approved for a wholesale account.

        Does that make sense?
        Chris

        • It makes perfect sense. Well, what we have developed for this kind of scenarios is the reseller vouchers. You can create a “Reseller” or a “Wholesale”, if you prefer, Customer that gets a permanent, well permanent until you decide to delete him from your list, voucher code that when used gives him a discount (set amount or persentage based) on the Order Total Amount.

The result is the same – resellers pay less!

The advantage – you don’t have to deal with 2 sets of prices for your products.

          Hope this helps.

  • How we can remove the developers url link from the footer. ( The Furniture Store )

  • Let me say that this is a great theme.

Question…can products be integrated into Google Base (Merchant)?

  • Hallo!

  • What shopping cart is integrated into this?

    • Our own custom solution. NWS shopping cart :)

      • Does “The Clothes Store” have this shopping cart as well? I want to be able to do bulk uploads.

        • Yes, the themes in our eCommerce series use our custom built shopping cart. By bulk uploads I assume you refer to a csv uploader, right?

You see as the products are created using posts there’s a few csv plugins out there that you could use until we built our own csv uploader :)

I have not tested them myself yet but others have and said they work just fine so go ahead and try them out on a theme that you have to see how they work. The product posts will need a title, attached images, a category, tags and custom fields so things typical to regular blog posts.

          Hope this helps.

  • Question: Is it possible to rename the widgets used in searching for example: change Shop by Color to Shop by Country of Origin, or Shop by Period of Manufacture? (think antiques) – I have not purchased, this depends in part on this issue – Thanks

  • I would like to use your furniture store theme but can you tell me the restrictions for an US online store…is there a sales tax option, option of currency, etc?

  • Hi there,

You have produced a really great theme. I have bought WP-shop reloaded already. But, I’m missing a feature I can see in the furniture store theme – the login, register part. I want that part and I’m planing to get the furniture theme too. I have a question thought. Is that easy that registered users can fill their shipping details in their created accounts so that when they checkout, the don’t have to reenter those details?

    Makes sense Sara?

    Thanks very much!

  • Hey Sara, when do you think the new version will be out approximately?

    Thanks!

  • Are there any plans to add an affiliate module and be able to have affiliates check there sales commissions?

    • I would be interested to read more about what you plan to create there as this could be the basis for an entirely new theme altogether :)

Can you email me with some more info?

  • Seriously eyeballing the Furniture Store for another web adventure. I am a little confused though. Yours is a custom shopping cart that is designed to be used with Authorize.net or Worldpay.

I’m looking at Bluehost to host my WP/Furniture e-commerce site. Its features include os commerce, agora, cube cart and zen cart. I won’t need these, right? Can you recommend a host that is compatable with your cart?

Sorry, DIY here and low tech.

I am familiar with Bluehost and know how to find my way around. Afraid to venture out into the big world of hosting. Also, doesn’t look like Bluehost has a GD library that you mentioned in requirements.

    Thanks.

    • Hello Cindy,

so sorry for the late reply, I had an accident and was in hospital till today recovering from my operation.
As I have a lot of emails to go through and reply to (about 150!) my replies to future emails will take longer than usual.

I have seen buyers using Bluehost without any issues. So as long as your hosting package meets the theme requirements you should be fine :)

Oh and you don’t need a 3rd party shopping cart, our themes come with our own solution :)

  • Hi Sara,

Great theme. I have already purchased your business theme and I am impressed with the detail you put into your themes as well as the excellent support you provide. I am looking for an ecommerce solution and I would love to see some actual live sites that are using this theme (as well as a couple of your other themes). Do you have a list anywhere of sites using your themes? It’s always helpful to see what others have done.

    Thanks,

    Dan

    • Hello Dan,
once I finish this round of updates I will redesign my own site and the new look will include a gallery :)

Till then feel free to post on the theme’s comment area on TF asking for people to post links to their sites. You may get some replies there :)

  • Hi Sara,

Can I try Backend before purchase.

  • Can I try the backend before purchase ?
    I really interesting your theme.

    ART

    • You can have screenshots of the backend yes :)

If you are familiar with the WordPress backend then things are easy to understand and work with.

  • Hallo!

    Nichtsdestotrotz…super Arbeit!

    Gruß DaElsta

  • I love, love, love your work! I really would like to buy your Jewelry Shop theme on Wordpress. When do you think that will be available?

  • Why “no windows server” ?

  • If your using paypal, does the customer need a paypal account or can they simply pay by credit card with out creating a paypal account?

Can customers select an alternate delivery address?

    Cheers :)

    • No, they do not have to have a paypal account. PayPal Payments Standard give you the option to proceed and pay with a credit card. Try it out (the demo) and you’ll see that option when you on the paypal page.

The 1.0.5 version will have the separate delivery address so yes!

  • First Great theme,

Is that the whole interface is localized (front end and back) , or easy to translate

About SEO, can we customize all tiles (for exemple, I would like a unique title for the home page, and the name of the product, the brand, the categorie + some keywords for each product page) and description. In some CMS, you can let the “automatic rules” or enter your own title

Can we use the theme for several sites ?
I’d like to try it for a small “experimental” site and then may use it later for other projects.
How it happens, you pay a license to use each
I am not a developer and looking just for a simple and fast solution to use in some cases

If possible I like to receive more information (screenshot) on the back end as you suggest in your PDF document

Thanks and congratulations for your work

    • Thanks!
The entire theme is localized yes! Frontend and admin :)

The 1.0.5 version will be released soon and that has made great improvements in SEO. In fact, so much so that plugins like the All-In-One SEO are rendered redundant

Each purchase grands you a single licence which means that if you want to use the theme for 2 sites you need to purchased the theme twice.

I’ll email you the backend screenshots :)

    • Thanks Sarah for your reply.

I’ll take a look at your mail and waiting for the 1.0.5 version.
You can email me when is out even if i will follow the news on your site.

By the way, about SEO and code tracking :
is it possible to add the Adwords or Google Analytics conversion code in the confirmation page (Contact, Command, payment, etc.).
I saw a “Google Space” in the back end, but nothing for a conversion code

      • Sorry I don’t send individual emails. If you want to stay informaed please follow me on Twitter. That is where I announce update releases.

  • I want to ask how to change the number of digits of the price at checkout? I use the IDR / Rupiah as a currency .. Example: Rp 7000000.00 at the price in a single product page, but will appear Rp 9999.99 at checkout .. can you help me?

  • Hi,

Would like to know if this pugin works with wpmu.

    thanks

  • hi

I like to see the admin panel functionalities. do you have access to admin panel?

  • Hi,I would like to download the latest version on themeforest but failed (it said the product is removed by author), may I ask where could I have the ver. 1.05? thanks.

  • Sarah
Can I use an affiliate product feed with this theme?

I was thinking of using a product feed plugin to create posts with individual products on.

If this can be done which feed plugin do you suggest I use?

    • Andrew the affiliate mode is for manually adding affiliate products. It does not yet connect with an affiliate feed so I’m afraid you cannot, yet at this point, use the theme for what you asked above.

      Sorry.

  • Hi,
Is there any guideline how to set the widgets. Im little confused with Frontpage Bottom Right(1/2/3 col). What is settings of the frontpage bottom portion of the demo page?

  • any news on google base updates?

  • Sarah, I submitted this question on your contact form, but since I found this comment thread, I though it might be of interest to a wider public. I LOVE your themes and Furniture may be the right one for a WP store that I’m working on.

My question is about the wishlist feature, one that is mission critical for me.

    • can the wishlist button be displayed also to unlogged users, taking them to a “you need to register/login to add to wishlist” page/form?

    • can the wishlist itself be shared via email or social networks and then be visible via a public permalink?

    • can the wishlist be named as “wedding”, “birthday”, “Xmas” etc.?

I think these would be popular features for your other customers, too. Comments?

    • Hello Howard, did see your email and also replied to it :)

Here’s what I had to say:
After we finish with the tax module I wanted to sit down and add several smaller features that have been requested. A public wishlist is among them :)

This is how I imagine this feature to work:

      1. Registered Customer puts together a wishlist.

      2. He is given the option to email a link to friends and family

      3. Friends and family can follow the link and are given access to a list of products, a page using the multiple product pages layout where they can select the products they want to purchase as a gift.

      4. When a product is purchased the wishlist owner gets an email informing him of this and the product is also removed from the list.

      Thoughts?

      • Thanks for the SPEEDY response! (And for the emailed one, too.)

Your roadmap description of the wishlist feature is a huge step forward, and would make the theme “buyable” for my purposes.

        My feedback is the following:

        1. The wishlist button should appear and be active just like the “add to basket”, even to unregistered users *to let them know that this feature exists*.

You have it grayed out on this page: http://thefurniturestore.sarah-neuber.de/main-category-two/subcategory-one-main-category-two/prod3 But it would be nice if it were active and behaved like the basket. Instead of checking out, you Save and Share (via email at least).

The MOMA.org store has a nice implementation of this. I’ll paste in this huge URL, hoping it will work:
        http://www.momastore.org/museum/moma/ProductDisplay_Egg%20Candles_10451_10001_63563_-1_11548_11550_null_shop_

        2. Email to friends and family is a great first step. This means, I imagine, that you have a permalink to the wishlist.

At that point it would be easy to let the user copy the embed code, YouTube style, to insert manually into his/her Facebook or Twitter status as a first step towards social network sharing. Or else we simply explain in text on the page how to copy and paste the URL wherever you want…

        3. What about the addition of a “share” link for friends to send it to other friends?!?

        4. Perfect as is!! See? I’m not *always* unsatisfied :-D

When do you roughly estimate to put your new wishlist online?

        Thanks again.

        • Hello Howard,
I’ll reply to each of your points in the order you asked them.

          1. You see the initial idea of presenting the wishlist button the way you see it in the demo was to encourage customers to register. Of course you can always edit the graphic image to something that suits you better :)
Thank you for the link too. I’ll be sure to check it out more carefully later on this week when I get the time.

          2. Email is one option and not the only one. There’s all kind of possibilities to allow customers to share their wishlists and I’ll be sure to explore all kind of options once the time comes

          3. That can be done :)

          4. :)

Aah! let’s not forget the mostly asked question “When do you roughly estimate to put your new wishlist online?”!

Well, I would love to give you a time frame even an aproximate one, however experience has taught me to be very careful not to excite expectations that may take longer to fulfill.
You see we will always integrate new features but support has priority so as we are only 2 people in the team things can be done either fast or slow depending on how busy we are with support.
I know, not exactly the reply you expected but I’m sure you can appreciate it’s a realistic one.

          So stay tuned!

          • I really appreciate this detailed conversation!

            1. Changing the graphic to take care of this is something I can live with ;-)

            2. I would say that email, Facebook, Twitter and copy link are probably the highest priority, but of course there are mechanism like http://www.addthis.com/ that show the main choices. I trust that you will make the right choices.

            3. Great news on the Share link, that will help the wishlist take advantage of the social net.

            4. :-)

Regarding the estimate, your explanation is perfectly reasonable. I understand the risk you take. But making the template choice now means I will be living with this for the Christmas season. That is the important issue. Can it be implemented by the start of November or thereabouts?

  • Thanks! Make sure you follow me on Twitter were updates are announced :)

  • I’m following you already.

  • Hi Sarah,

How is the new version coming along?

  • Is coming along ;)

You are one of my testers so you’ll anyway get it before anyone else! I’ll write as soon as I can with the files.

  • I have started working on the actual version, editing some little things, HTML stuff. Any idea how many of the new versions files will be effected? I asking so that I do not do things twice.

  • Practically the entire parent theme so do not edit the originals! Follow instead the instructions under Advanced Customizations in the help Documentation.

If you don’t know how to work with the child theme I rather show you how so you don’t loose your ability to update easily.

Email me so we can set up a meeting over skype.

  • I’ll do my best :)

Howard, I’m curious to know. How do you intent on using the theme? I guess what I’m trying to determine is what will the purpose of the website you will be creating be.

It would be good to know as I may create a whole new theme to promote this new “full of new features and functionality wishlist”

  • Sarah, you really do stick to your own rules ;-)

I plan to use the theme to power the website of a ‘design store’ in Como, Italy. The products range from tableware to picture frames, from bed sheets to pots and pans, from lamps to selected children’s toys.

There are 2 tracks for the marketing plan, 1) is local traffic in the store and 2) is international e-commerce.

The wishlist, while important for 2) is really one of the best tools for 1). The design store has local Facebook fans and a mailing list … and will continue to expand the social network in the local community. In order to stimulate organic growth of the customer base we need a promotional “social object” that can be spread via social networks and email. And this will have the effect of increasing local, physical traffic in the store in addition to increasing ecommerce sales.

What is this the perfect “social object” for a store? The WISHLIST! It costs the user nothing but a little time to create the list and they have a strong self-interest in promoting it to get what they want for Christmas, birthday, etc. (It would be nice to have a drop down to name the list: wedding, birthday, graduation, christmas or “things I’d like to have”.)

I am convinced that this is a feature that many people will LOVE, based on the popularity of social sharing. And it’s not too late for this coming Xmas season!

  • One more Off topic question: I looked in the documentation and demo and did not see if there is a local language chooser function. Can we publish the site in another language and have a language chooser menu in the top nav bar?

  • Thanks for the extra bit of info there. It sure does help “imagine” things better, doesn’t it?

  • This can be accomplished with multilingual plugins for WordPress. When time permits I want to look into http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms/ as it looks quite promising.
